About this prototype

This option uses selective units based on the example product. When packaging is meaningful, like bottled water sold by the case, the example shows that packaging and automatically sets the matching Unit below. For individual products like tarps or generators, no unit is assumed and Quantity & Unit behave as usual.

The question: Does selectively carrying a product's known packaging into Quantity & Unit make it easier to request the right amount?

Try it

  1. Enter "Tarps" and select an example — no unit is assumed.
  2. Change the item to "Water Bottles" and select a case.
  3. Notice "24 per case" on the example and Unit automatically update to Cases.
  4. Enter a Quantity to see the total number of bottles it represents.

How selective units work

Units are only carried over when the example has meaningful packaging. A case of bottled water sets Cases automatically; an individual tarp or generator leaves the Unit for the user to choose.
