About this prototype

This concept takes a different approach to product specificity. Instead of asking users to find an example product first, it focuses on capturing the requirements that actually matter (such as size, material, wattage, fuel type, or other specifications). An example product can still be added, but it supports those requirements rather than defining the need.

The question: “Can capturing the characteristics that matter give suppliers enough context to find an appropriate match without requiring the NPO to identify a specific product?”

Try it

  1. Type “gen” into Item Name and select “Generator”
  2. See the Category populate automatically
  3. Add the specific requirements that matter for the match
  4. Optionally add an example product by searching GIK or pasting a product link
  5. Review, change, or remove the example
  6. Set Quantity & Unit separately

Why quantity stays separate

The requirements and optional example tell suppliers what kind of item the NPO needs, not how many. Quantity & Unit remain separate so the NPO can specify the amount they actually need.
